about me

As a freelance science writer with seven years of experience and a PhD in cell biology from the University of Pittsburgh, I combine my expertise in research and passion for writing to generate compelling articles that translate complex topics, from fundamental biomedical research to family matter.

My writing has appeared in Undark, Wirecutter, Slate, Smithsonian,  and more. And in the past I’ve provided communications services—writing press releases, research summaries, and website copy, editing documents, and managing social media—to scientific organizations including the American Society for Cell Biology, the Biophysical Society, HHMI, AAAS, and Rockefeller University Press.
